Brian William Heeney was born April 14, 1984 to the proud parents of Carrie & William Heeney Jr., and big sister Tracey. Brian was born in Jackson, MI and grew up in the small town of Stockbridge, MI. Most who knew him, knew him as the Wild Child. He definitely lived up to that name! While growing up, he was more than a handful for his parents. Growing up in a small town what else is there to do but drive old beat up cars around in the woods at night, or drive ATVs into the mud until you sink down so far your friends have to pull you out using a rope and a truck, or ride snowmobiles across the farmer's fields. These are some of the things that Brian did during his short, yet adventurous life. Brian was an outgoing, fun, hilarious, kind, loveable person. He loved to make people laugh and he loved to play jokes on his friends and family. But when it came down to business, he was the first to extend his hand and offer to help.
Brian's passion was race cars. He built them, maintained them, and what he loved most of all was racing them. Brian raced modified race cars at the local short race tracks where he literally was a star. At the age of 15, he became part of the Heeney Family Racing legend when he raced his first race. The race track is where he received the named Wild Child. He always made the races more interesting when he was out on the track. Throughout the 7 years that he raced, he gained hundreds of fans of all ages.
We will never forget that early morning of Thursday, October 5, 2006. ALL our hearts were torn when the news was spread about the tragic accident. Cousins Brian Heeney and Bradley Clark did not make it. They will FOREVER be in our hearts and will ALWAYS be missed! |
